What was your happiest moment on American Idol?

Chikezie: When I performed “She’s a Woman” because it was basically something that I dreamed of in my head like; the arrangement and how the song would go and it actually worked.

We heard Simon is your favorite judge — is that true?

That’s changed (laughing) no um, Simon is good but it comes to a point where you think to yourself and ask if you are trying too hard. You know? And when it comes to that then it’s not natural anymore, it’s not fluid, its not organic. My favorite now I have to say is Paula. The simple fact that she understands what it’s like to be on that stage…she’s really sensitive to the artist psyche and really compassionate.

Do you perform any rituals before going on stage?

Basically Prayer. Every single time I hit that stage I made sure that I prayed not for success but for the piece of mind and the ability to deal with whatever is coming next.
