  • Just One Of Those Days….

  • Interesting way to start off my Monday…

(Just a warning, I’ve mentioned my cranky moods a time or two. Well, this is one of those times)

I was following a fire engine for about 15 seconds this morning when it turned the sirens on, drove a little further, then stopped. Not a second later, another truck pulled up behind me and stopped. The firefighters in the truck ahead of me got out and headed up to a brownstone that didn’t seem to be in any peril. The guys in the truck behind me stayed put. The problem was, I was sandwiched between the two trucks and had no way out. The truck behind me stopped dead in the center of a narrow street. I waited for a second, until I realized that they weren’t going to move. It was pouring buckets (isn’t it always raining when car issues come up?). I got out, walked up to the window and asked them if they could move… it really wasn’t a big deal, unless I’m just totally missing something. All they’d have to do was move forward a few feet and get a little closer to either side of the road so I could slide by.

As you can probably guess, that didn’t happen. It didn’t take too long, but it’s that stress of going “Um, am I getting out of here anytime soon?!?” that kind of blows.

Honestly, this just wasn’t my morning. I have other stories but they need to be conveyed delicately, and right now with my mood, that’s not likely to happen.

I said all I feel like saying about OJ on the air today. It boggles my mind when I hear people say they spotted him at a restaurant or a bar down in Florida and the whole place was all a-twitter. As Jeanine Pirro said, she’d love to have all that criminal trial evidence as a prosecutor. And OJ’s little book — the one so adorably titled If I Did It… At this stage of the game, does anyone out there still have doubts that he murdered two people?

“IF” he did it? What a sicko.

On a happier note, I’m glad to know my domineering, bossy first-born ways are going to mesh well with my easygoing last-born boyfriend’s. Although I wouldn’t say my younger brother (my only other sibling) is the most mellow guy in town. Must be the fiery Irish in us? I was asking our guest a little about himself in the commercial break prior to the segment and interestingly, he’s not even in the psychology/sociology/whatever-ology arena. He’s a lawyer and an English professor who just happened to be fascinated by the subject. He’s been researching it since the 70’s and voila!
