Dec. 20: Happy Holidays!

December 20, 2007

Sorry for bawling on the air today during the reunion segment. I explained in an earlier blog that I went through a similar reunion and it brought back memories. Although I think I cried more during THIS one than my own. I think that mainly had to do with the fact that I was sort of shocked when it was happening. I also feel a bit of regret for the fact that my half-brother and I haven’t become closer. It’s hard though, trying to get to know somebody when you never see them. I’m sure it’s a lot different for the parent/child than half-siblings. Our producer Liz did an amazing job getting this whole thing together. She was working up to the last second trying to keep all the parties apart so as not to ruin the surprise. Surprises, I mean!

We’re all a little slap-happy here. Not much vacation time when you’re a start-up — and I have to admit, I’m running on fumes right now. My eyes constantly feel like they’re about to close. But, the good news is we only have one more day till our holiday vacation which lasts from essentially Friday at 5p.m. till January 2nd at 6a.m. I’m going to try much luck again at skiing up in Vermont for a few days between Christmas and New Year’s Eve. I pray I don’t come back with a broken leg. The last time I skied was I think my junior year of college (a loooong time ago). I’m actually looking forward more to hanging out in the little lodge on the slope than actually hanging on for dear life to a tree on the slope.

I’m looking forward to tomorrow’s show — Aida Turturro from the Sopranos and now, Chicago on Broadway is on. Mike and I have interviewed her a few times and I really love her. She’s funny, bubbly and a smartass. My kind of girl! I’d love to take her and Jeanine Pirro out one night on the town. Holy smokes that would be a spectacle.

After tomorrow’s show I need to race out of the building, so I doubt I’ll be doing any blogging. So everyone please have a great holiday, remember we’re back on January 2nd with some great guests and great information/tips. Love you all!
